About Rika Singh:

Thank you for visiting and taking an interest in my photography. I live and work in Durban, South Africa as a web and graphics designer and have always wanted to take up photography. In 2009 I enrolled in courses and began putting my lecturers teachings into practise. It has been an amazing journey and one of great excitement for me. Like design, you never stop learning when you are behind that camera. I truly love what I do and I hope it reflects in the pictures you'll see on my website and blog. Vineshree and Vivek are used to working long hours as they are both doctors and I think that might have something to do with Vineshree’s independent streak. To give you an idea of how independent she is, she drove herself to the makeup artists studio and then to the photoshoot. She was totally and completely in that “I’ll get it done mode” and I was in awe. Most often than not… (ok, always…) the bride is driven around. So it was really awesome to see Vineshree do everything for herself including carrying all her bags to the car when she was all dressed up and ready to get married! I do love ‘Girl Power’. Lol. ;)

The wedding was a fusion of Hindu and Tamil rituals and Vivek gave the most funny speech at the wedding and had the crowd in stitches. I hope you will enjoy their pictures.

You will notice the cake toppers on the wedding cake look exactly like the bride and groom. I was so tickled to see this and loved the attention to detail. When I mentioned it to Vineshree later she informed me that they were actually made of clay and she would be able to keep it forever. How awesome is that? Love it. Thanks for picking me, guys! Loved every minute of your big day.

Delia & Loshan | Married | Rika Singh Photography | Kendra Hall

July 10th, 2014

Delia has the biggest poker face I have ever seen. I couldn’t tell what she was thinking from our first meeting to the wedding day and every day that we saw each other in between. Lol. She has the biggest heart but doesn’t smile easily so imagine my delight when in the last hour of coverage on her wedding day she burst out laughing when I told her, “I can’t tell what you are thinking. I say something and you just look at me.” Lol. That worked and I was like, “Loshan, grab her!” and the resulting image was beautiful.

Delia is also the apple of her Dad’s eye and it was lovely to see him so emotional throughout her mehendi, nelangu and wedding celebrations. Hope you enjoy her photos of her wedding day.
