I did a shoot for the Ramsewak family while in Johannesburg recently. Their baby Kayush, who has just turned one, is so adorable. He was such a serious little man when I met him. He had this thoughtful look on his face and you just had to wonder what he is thinking. I love kids with personality’s like this. They are absorbing everything around them. At first he was a bit tired as the shoot took place right around his nap time but with the help of his mum and dad, we got some good shots of him. At the end of the shoot his dad asked me to wink at Kayush. Not sure what to expect but willing to give it a try (because I love babies and want ALL of them to like me) I winked at the baby. I waited a second… it felt longer than that though. And then, guess what. Kayush gave me a big shy smile. The first for me from the whole session. And then he couldn’t stop smiling at me afterwards. It was the cutest, most peculiar thing ever because he did a total 360 from not wanting me to touch him, to beaming at me! LOL. I loved it.
