About Rika Singh:

Thank you for visiting and taking an interest in my photography. I live and work in Durban, South Africa as a web and graphics designer and have always wanted to take up photography. In 2009 I enrolled in courses and began putting my lecturers teachings into practise. It has been an amazing journey and one of great excitement for me. Like design, you never stop learning when you are behind that camera. I truly love what I do and I hope it reflects in the pictures you'll see on my website and blog. Family Shoot | The Ramsewak Family

Wednesday, August 25th, 2010

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Also come join my Facebook Page Thanks for visiting!

I did a shoot for the Ramsewak family while in Johannesburg recently. Their baby Kayush, who has just turned one, is so adorable. He was such a serious little man when I met him. He had this thoughtful look on his face and you just had to wonder what he is thinking. I love kids with personality’s like this. They are absorbing everything around them. At first he was a bit tired as the shoot took place right around his nap time but with the help of his mum and dad, we got some good shots of him. At the end of the shoot his dad asked me to wink at Kayush. Not sure what to expect but willing to give it a try (because I love babies and want ALL of them to like me) I winked at the baby. I waited a second… it felt longer than that though. And then, guess what. Kayush gave me a big shy smile. The first for me from the whole session. And then he couldn’t stop smiling at me afterwards. It was the cutest, most peculiar thing ever because he did a total 360 from not wanting me to touch him, to beaming at me! LOL. I loved it. Here is the little cutie pie below with his mum, Roxanne and his dad, Bruce.

Baby Shoot | Dean Miller

Saturday, July 24th, 2010

Yesterday I did a shoot for Dean Miller at his home with his mum. You might remember the pregnancy shoot and the newborn shoot I did for them a few months ago. Now Dean is just a few days away from 5 months and boy is he a cutie. He has this most amazing gummy smile. He dishes it out so easily too. Its the cutest thing. I never get tired of seeing him do it. As a result, this post is a bit longer because I wasn’t able to trim down the number of photos. :)  We’ll start with two of my favorites:

How beyond cute is this! (see below)… Please put your toes in prayer :)

My mummy is my special girl:

I still got my double chin!

I blow bubbles.

I look just like my big brother here:

Mum’s the word:

Cute alert!

While Dad’s at work, I gotta stay at home and take care of my Mum. I love my job.

Meet Baby Dean!

Monday, March 22nd, 2010

On Friday I photographed Dean Matthew at his home with his family. He is the new addition in the Miller household and such a cutie. You might remember that I did a shoot for his mum and brother in December. Dean is about 3 weeks old and was not in the mood to get his picture taken. We managed to get some nice ones though. :) We’ll start with my favorite one of the entire shoot:

He has long fingers and beautiful eyes. He does adorable things with his hands when he is asleep. And how about that chin?

Dean’s dad and big brother:

Luke below. He is adorable!

Family all together. They look so happy.
